Nadia Davari

Nadia Davari is an experienced attorney whose practice bridges entertainment, new media, corporate and business law. Nadia works with a wide range of clients including digital media companies, new business start-ups, production companies, movie studios, television networks, investors, and "talent" representation. Among her many areas of expertise, Nadia has an extensive record of accomplishment in the areas of entity formation, corporate maintenance, content acquisition, production, distribution (domestic and international), finance, internet and new media issues ranging from capital structuring to intellectual property protection.

Ms. Davari restructured international content licensing deals for MAVTV cable network and guided The Channel Factory and Planet Street through the process of establishing new media entities. At Taurus Entertainment and Dream Factory she managed all aspects of "production legal." At Gigapix Studios, Ms. Davari negotiated and drafted scripted and unscripted television production, animation series, documentary and feature film, acquisition and financing agreements. Also, while at Gigapix Studios, she helped management launch Gigapix Releasing and negotiated domestic and international distribution agreements with content providers and sub-distributors.

Ms. Davari has represented a number of companies including Lightning Entertainment Group, WR Films Entertainment, Je'Caryous Johnson Entertainment, Konwiser Brothers, Entertainment Treasures, Film Roman, and Starz Entertainment. In the past, Ms. Davari practiced law as an associate with the law firms Rosen and Anderson and later Barnes Morris. Nadia graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in molecular, cell and developmental biology and attended USC Law School where she participated in the Hale Moot Court Honors program. Ms. Davari is also a guest lecturer at The University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts.

Kimberlina McKinney

Ms. Kimberlina McKinney is the founder of KL&C, and focuses her expertise on new technology start-ups, music rights and other entertainment industries, such as television, film and sports law. Prior to starting her own successful practice, she represented A-Level talent in state and federal litigation, such as Sandra Bullock, Tyra Banks, Halle Berry, Liam Neeson, Jude Law, Hulk Hogan, and corporate clientele like World of Wonder Productions and the film payroll conglomerate Media Services, Inc., at Harder, Mirell & Abrams, LLP (HMA). While at HMA, Kimberlina was counsel on half a dozen high-profile lawsuits, seeking over $60 million in total damages and receiving highly favorable resolutions in under a year. Kimberlina is a licensed California Notary and Real Estate Broker.

Early in her career, Kimberlina worked for the California State Assembly in the prestigious Jesse Marvin Unruh Fellowship, drafting state legislation for the higher education, health, social services, and technology sectors. As a legal consultant, she has conducted over 45 independent audits of financial institutions, such as Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Citigroup, for mishandled mortgages and foreclosures. Kimberlina was recently elected as the Deputy of Fundraising & Institutional Giving at Bet Tzedek, one of the largest and most successful non-profit legal services agencies in the United States. Kimberlina also serves as an advisor and strategist to Helping Heroes.

Kimberlina received her law degree from UCLA School of Law, where she was the President of her class and served as the Vice President of Academic Affairs for the entire UCLA Graduate School. She studied International Law at The Graduate Institute in Geneva, Switzerland and International Relations at the Universidad de San Francisco in Quito, Ecuador. She also holds a B.A in Sociology and Black Studies from Scripps College.


Jacqueline Priel

Jackie has extensive entertainment and new media background—including over 9 years experience working within the music, television, and motion picture industries at Universal Music Group, Sony Pictures, and private law firms. She earned experience in digital and mobile distribution/exploitation, licensing, partnerships, music industry agreements, film production agreements, talent agreements, production agreements, copyrights, patents, and corporate legal and business affairs. Jackie has also managed and developed emerging artists, including music production. As an entertainment industry consultant, Jackie has drafted and negotiated innumerous contracts, such as management, producer, talent, artist, demo, sample, songwriter, joint ventures, distribution, marketing, partnership, technology, publishing, releases, rights acquisition, development deals, profit share, and production agreements. She advises clients on digital marketing, film and TV licensing/music placements, promotion, financing, reality television pitching, talent agreements, copyright, trademark, management, legal liability, corporate formation, and risk assessment. Her practice also includes drafting business plans and corporate formation documentation.
